About Benjamin Perron

I am currently finishing the Common Core of the 42 Quebec curriculum, where I'm learning about programming. I love game development and hope to make it my future, but I'm interested in all aspects of programming. At 42 Quebec, we embrace self-learning, working in teams, problem-solving, and many other skills that are essential for a good developer. We also learn some programming languages, mainly C, C++, and TypeScript. We also see how to use tools that simplify our work, like Makefile, Docker, Git, and Bash. All of our projects allow us to further our knowledge and learn new things. My favorites are- Cub3d: The goal of this project is to create a simple raycasting engine in C. This project furthers our knowledge in graphic development and teamwork- Ft_IRC: The goal of this project is to create an IRC (Internet Relay Chat) server in C++. This project is an introduction to socket programming and is another team project to further our skills- Ft_transcendance: This is the last project of the Common Core, and it is still under development. We need to create a website that hosts a chat and the game PONG (with matchmaking and a leaderboard). I also have hobbies outside of programming. I love cooking, fishing (even though I'm a really bad fisherman), hiking, and video games. Even though my hobbies are just for fun and personal accomplishment, they also help further my skills like problem-solving, teamwork, attention to detail, and perseverance. I'm eager to learn new skills that will take me further in my programming career. I'm open to new opportunities for my career and personal growth.
