Benjamin has twenty-five years of experience representing businesses across industries in complex civil litigation in state and federal courts. He has built a reputation for his expertise in cross-border matters, advising on FCPA and FARA issues and U.S. import/export laws. Benjamin is routinely tapped by clients to resolve difficult, high-stakes matters, developing strategies to efficiently secure dismissals and optimal settlements. He represents clients in litigation, arbitrations, and mediations involving shareholder rights, corporate governance, contracts and tort actions, unfair competition, financial fraud, bribery, and other private disputes. Over the course of his career, Benjamin has defended clients in SEC and DOJ investigations related to insider trading, fiduciary duties, employment law, corporate controls/governance, and cross-border transactions. In addition to litigation and corporate investigations, Benjamin creates business development strategies that ensure compliance without stifling productivity. Benjamin also develops, implements, and enhances critical compliance controls related to U.S. import/export laws and regulations. Additionally, he interprets and advises on complex international laws and regulations and provides clients with practical, workable recommendations. In 2015, Benjamin co-founded the boutique litigation firm Verdi & Ogletree PLLC. Prior to his partnership, he was an associate and senior counsel at firms in Washington, D.C, including Am Law 100 firm Proskauer Rose, where he advised businesses on developing compliance programs, training, policies, and procedures for U.S. securities laws/regulations, as well as domestic and foreign anti-corruption laws affecting multinational businesses.
