About Benjamin Smole

With over 14 years of experience in professional aviation, I bring a diverse background that spans military service as an Air Force pilot and leadership roles within the airline industry. I began my aviation journey at the age of 15 and I'm currently serving as a Captain after transitioning from my military career. Air Force Experience (First 7 years): Commander of the 1st Section at the ATO of the Slovenian Air Force Flying School, leading training and operational planning for future Air Force pilots. Designed and implemented comprehensive training programs in line with EASA regulations to ensure high standards of aviation safety and operational readiness. Led and participated in international military exercises, working alongside allied forces to hone tactical and strategic aviation skills. As an Operational Pilot on the Pilatus PC-9M Swift, I performed Close Air Support (CAS) and Air-to-Ground (A-G) missions in domestic and international environments, providing critical support during complex operations. Airline Industry: After transitioning to the commercial aviation sector, I began as a Second Officer (SFO) to gain invaluable experience in the airline’s operations, rapidly adapting to a new environment and industry standards. Promoted to Captain in March 2023, where I continue to build on my leadership and technical skills while maintaining a strong focus on aviation safety and operational excellence.
