About Benjamin Springer

I am currently a Product Transfer Scientist II at DiaSorin. My role is focused on technology transfer for new and innovative immunoassays and technologies. More specifically, I assist with the R&D product development process to ensure new innovation projects are replicable at larger manufacturing scales, and create all documentation for new products to standardize processes related to manufacturing and quality control. This work ensures the standard of clinical assays used all over the world. I formulate the components used by customers in these assays, test them and then approve them for use and distribution after extensive data collection and analysis while also drafting appropriate documentation and product specifications to ensure standards are set, and then consistently met by the manufacturing team. In my prior position as an in-vivo associate at Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, I worked in the experimental therapeutics core performing studies on various cancer strains in mouse models. Drug administration and cell inoculations were large parts of the work, along with minor surgeries (tumor implantation IC, IV and tumor fragments), bioluminescent imaging, flow cytometry, cell culture and tumor/organ collections. Data collection and analysis were also frequently done for publication and drug approval in the clinic. During my time at Dana Farber I was fortunate enough to be a part of some great publications which were eventually published in high impact journals. I have also held two political internships at the town and state levels. I fulfilled tasks such as filing and communicating with constituents. During my time at the state house I was able to meet political figures from all around Massachusetts including former governor Deval Patrick. I have a BS in Animal and Veterinary Science and Technology from the University of Rhode Island and am currently pursuing a Master of Public Health - Epidemiology degree in the infectious disease subplan at North Dakota State University. I am an alumni of the pre-health Co-Ed fraternity Delta Epsilon Mu. I am a hardworking individual who loves a challenge!
