Currently collaborating with esteemed colleagues from research universities, national laboratories (including Sandia National Labs and Argonne National Labs), and industry leaders like Praxair, John Deere, and Caterpillar, I am deeply immersed in collaborative projects that span the boundaries of academia and industry.During my PhD, I delved into the intricate world of additively manufactured nickel-based superalloys. Employing advanced microscopy techniques (SEM-BSE & EBSD, TEM-HAADF, STEM, HRTEM) and a suite of mechanical testing methodologies (room temperature and high-temperature tension testing, micro pillar compression, etc.), I specifically explored the impact of various additives, such as oxides, on the laser powder bed fusion process. This comprehensive investigation provided insights into how these additives influence the resulting microstructure and mechanical properties.Beyond the core of my research, I've embarked on intriguing side projects, including additive manufacturing initiatives and the development of custom-designed sample holders for sending additively manufactured parts to the International Space Station on the MISSE-15. These endeavors contribute to long-term exposure studies and showcase the potential applications of advanced manufacturing beyond our planet.Eager to connect with like-minded professionals, collaborators, and enthusiasts in the material science and engineering space to explore new opportunities and contribute to cutting-edge advancements.
