About Benjamin van Arragon

Currently I am doing some freelance work for Expogain International Inc as their Senior Database Consultant. My responsibilities include consulting employees on the best course of action to improve SQL queries, stored procedures, and routines. Improving query times for dashboards from over half an hour to 3 seconds for multiple millions of rows of data collected over many years. Proposing and implementing solutions for analytics and data collection for clients in Belgium, Kuala Lumpur, and California. At the same time I am lecturing part-time at Georgian College teaching 3 courses in the Mobile Development program. I completed my Graduate Diploma at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand. I am fully qualified to teach education at a post-secondary level. My senior teaching subject is computer studies and my junior teaching subject is mathematics. Previously I taught computer science and mobile application development at Georgian College. I had two classes in a post-graduate program, training students in Android development and building a mobile application portfolio. I finished working for T4G in Toronto as a Business Intelligence Developer. During this time I worked within an agile development team to analyze business requirements, design, develop, and implement large scale BI solutions. Projects involved data warehouses, data mining, and building enterprise application software for merchandise financial planning. Before this I was studying abroad in Ireland and acquired my Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Software Systems Development at Waterford Institute of Technology top of my class with a 4.0 GPA. I finished studying and graduated with honours from Georgian College. I successfully obtained my Advanced Diploma in the Computer Programmer Analyst (COPA) program. I have had great work opportunities over the years through the Co-op program offered by Georgian College. Including, Department of National Defence (Base Borden), Canadian Nuclear Laboratories, and T4G located in Toronto.
