About Benjamin Wegman

Ben started his career as a dancer and rehearsal director, through which he travelled the world. At Liz Lerman Dance Exchange he had the ability to combine his kinesiology and dance education to maintain the integrity of the brand throughout the world. Ben’s journey with Liz Lerman took him from Washington DC to Germany, Japan, and finally Indiana University where he taught dance. When the lead role in Sleep No More brought him to New York City, he began taking fitness classes and discovered a way to merge his love of movement with health. With commonalities between boutique fitness and dance performances, becoming a Founding Trainer at Fhitting Room was a natural progression in Ben’s career. Functional training feels like choreography to Ben, and he loves to use training as a platform to help people push their limits and understand how the way they move impacts performance. In 2017, Ben was promoted to Fhitting Room Chief Curriculum Officer for his contributions co-leading instructor training and leading Fhitting Room’s programming team. That same year, Ben created FHIT Kids, a class designed to safely build strength and conditioning for children ages 9-12 regardless of their fitness level or athletic ability. Ben has a degree of Dance Performance with a minor in kinesiology from Point Park University and is currently pursuing his Master of Fine Arts. Body positivity activist. Politically active.
