I'm currently a Registered Nurse at the Weinberg Surgical ICU at Johns Hopkins Hospital I'm a former Medical Service Corps Officer in the U.S. Army with experience as a medical operations planner and health services administration. I’ve found myself in a variety of positions including: leading a medical team of 40+ personnel across 4 countries, overseeing over $20 million in medical materials, and managing medical evacuations for personnel throughout Europe. I have been fortunate enough to manage multi-disciplinary projects and navigate complex problem sets. My experiences have taught me there are four things needed for professional success: 1) Attitude. Anyone can find a negative in a positive situation, but the key to success is to find positives in a negative situation. Positivity is contagious and productivity increases when employees want to be there. 2) Open Communication. There is no substitute for candid communication. Candid communication will instill trust amongst a team and facilitate your team in making accurate, immediate decisions. 3) Know Your Profession. Understand your weaknesses and limitations. Seek continuous education, both formal and informal, to fill those gaps and maintain your technical proficiency. 4) Goals. Know what is expected, where the team is, and where we are going.
