About Benjamin Yew

I have more than 20 years of management experience in both consumer financial services and learning development. I have managed card businesses in Fiji and Thailand before moving to HK to manage a Regional Learning Development team. I was the pioneer of a newly created team responsible for providing training support to the bank's consumer banking business operations and risk management across AP region. Training provided includes each part of the Credit Cycle from acquisition risk to collections management. As for card operations, from issuing to acquiring processes and how they are complied with Visa/MasterCard Bylaws. All customer calls handling in both Call Centers and Debt Collections were also part of the training provided. Managed several major projects to support the transition of card systems migration in the area of training over the period of 10 years involving several countries such as Malaysia, India, Indonesia, Australia and Vietnam. Supported the process migration to China as well including the startup of a card company in Shanghai. In the Decision Analytics role, I managed the modelling process and review the reliability of the models. Stress testings and annual planning of business forecasts were also part of my remit where I worked with local teams across the region to ensure models used were reliable. I was the Country Manager for both Malaysia and Singapore whereby I am responsible for new business development, consultancy, training design and delivery during my time with Genesis Corporation. Currently, I am the Senior Business Analyst leading a small team working on projects in the AP region. I am also supporting the people development initiatives to uplift our people's capabilities to the newer ways of working such as agile and BA related skills sets. In 2023, I have been made the Delivery Lead for Data Messaging Hong Kong.
