About Benny Rodriguez

I’ve built my career in a variety of roles and industries, where in addition to my role as the Fitness Manager, I was gatekeeper, technology whiz, bookkeeper, activities person and marketing guru. I’m not only used to wearing many hats, I sincerely enjoy it; I thrive in an environment where no two work days are exactly the same. During my career working in continuing care retirement communities, I have spent the majority of my time working in wellness. I noticed gaps in the overall fitness and wellness from independent to assisted living and also opportunities to capitalize on bridging the gap between physical therapy and physical fitness. I developed systems and processes that allowed the assisted living residents to receive equal time and attention to their physical fitness as the independent residents. In addition to bringing fitness to assisted living, therapy and fitness started working together as patients were being discharged “bridging the gap.” Lake Forest Place saw a 20% drop in the independent residents transitioning to assisted living allowing them to live healthier lifestyles and remain independent longer.
