About Benoit Godard

Before going further: I’m not interested by full remote positions. I’m not interested for jobs outside Luxembourg at the moment. Thank you for reading this. I'm a french senior software engineer with 10 years of experience. I built up myself on working with Java and JEE on small/medium applications, developing backend services (using SOAP) as well as some frontend pages using jQuery and Struts frameworks. I've always been a lot involved in improving my skills and knowledges, taking overtime to find out best practices or tool, learning from others and reading some books. I try to also take care of myself and my family, take time with my friends and spend several hours of sport per weeks. As I started working for EarthLab Luxembourg, I switched to Python langage for developing micro-services (RESTful APIs and Asynchronous workers) in an event driven architecture and with a deployment orchestrator (Marathon Mesos) on top of that. In the meantime I discovered 4 distributed NoSQL databases (Cassandra, Elasticsearch, HDFS, HBase) used for scalability and performance reasons as a well as whole new worlds: Big Data and A.I After several years, I built strong knowledge of Python langage and JavaScript (including all the web related assets). I'm able to develop backend services (APIs, treatment chains) as well as single page webapps. I had some new responsibilities like taking care of a team of two junior developers, getting involved in architecture choices, handling release management (CI/CD), managing projects in an agile way (SCRUM) and supporting our clients (technically and as a consultant). I'm able to work and lead projects as well as products development within a small team. I recently discovered the development craftsmanship wave and I learnt a lot from it. From the testing part, to the way of writing clean code with a clean architecture eventually using Mob/Pair programming using clever code revision workflows. I'm doing my best to deliver as much as possible a quality work and I love sharing and discussing development practices with teammates. I never rest on my current knowledges and I always try to improve and confront them with new things or new ideas. I'm looking forward to become lead developer as part of a small team to make my company projects become reality, working in a honest, sane and agile environment which considers quality as a priority.
