About Benoit Vallieres

Benoit Roberge-Vallières completed his doctoral studies in cognitive psychology at Laval University in Québec in early 2015. He received prestigious graduate scholarships from the Fonds de Recherche du Québec - Nature et Technologies (FRQNT), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and the MITACS accelerate program to support his research in the field of applied cognition, more precisely, on change blindness in complex dynamic situations and technological solutions to augment change detection. His thesis work was recognized by the scientific community by receiving the best student paper award (1st place) of the 56th Human Factors and Ergonomics Society annual meeting (Cognitive Engineering and Decision Making Technical Group) in 2012 and a Canadian Psychological Association certificate of academic excellence in 2013. He has been also involved in several human factors projects as a research assistant in the Cognition - Distribution, Organization & Technologies (Co-DOT) laboratory of Professor Sébastien Tremblay and as a research intern at Advanced Distributed Learning Co-Laboratory (Orlando, Florida) under the supervision of Dr. Paula J. Durlach. He has gained a broad expertise in statistics as the coordinator and a consultant for the Research Assistance Center of the School of Psychology of Université Laval. Since January 2015, he is the coordinator of Co-DOT Laboratory.
