Background

About Benoit Vaudreuil

As a quick summary of my experiences, I have worked in and out of my native province of Quebec, first starting as a Civil Design Technologist for a consulting engineering firm, ISL Engineering, in British Columbia. In those two years, I was introduced to the design and drafting aspect of engineering while working with AutoCad and Civil3D. Striving for more engineering knowledge and credentials, I returned to university for my bachelor’s degree. As an undergrad, I oriented my career in the structural and geotechnical fields and gained site experience through both my internships at Aecom on the Montréal Honoré Mercier bridge restoration project and at Menard Canada, a Ground Improvement Specialist contractor (known as Geopac at the time). As an EIT, I have worked in contract administration, project management and site inspection on diverse projects all providing me with a well rounded knowledge of bridges and structures along with a grounded understanding of construction sites. With my Engineer title I first worked as a Bridge Engineer/ Inspector by performing on-site detailed inspections, ranking structural elements and producing bridge assessments/reports on the condition of bridges. Missing the construction scene, I seeked to continue my career as a Construction Engineer, this combined with my contract administration and inspection experience, significantly enhanced my knowledge of bridges and structures through all phases.
