About Berend de Jong

At Planet Labs, my role as the Global Insurance & Finance Lead involves development and implementation of new satellite data services that transform the insurance and finance industry. I am supporting our clients with product design and ensuring continuity of service delivery. Planet Labs PBC is providing unique data and insights for insurers with around 200 satellites that are scanning the whole earth on a daily basis. Insurers use this data to improve claim assessments (pre- and post-event), check properties, monitor collateral and building progress as well as be an independent source of ESG ratings. Planet Labs has a unique solution in agriculture insurance: providing drought index services. Our collaborative efforts have been pivotal in advancing parametric insurance services across 20 countries, in partnership with industry giants like AXA and Swiss Re.
