About Bernard A Frankl

Bernard Frankl has expertise in bridge design of highway structures. He has gained experience in both maintenance design as well as new design of bridge structures. He is familiar with Allowable Stress Design, Load Factor Design and Load Factor and Resistance Design. He has designed steel bridges, prestressed bridges, continuous concrete bridges and box culverts along with various transportation structures. He also has experience in load rating of box culverts. Bernard Frankl also has experience in bridge construction. He has worked as a field engineer in charge of bridge construction oversight, surveying of bridges, construction design, subcontract management, and project scheduling. He has a masters degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in structural design. He defended a thesis on structural behavior or prestressed, precast concrete sandwich panels reinforced with CFRP grid. He also has a bachelors degree in civil engineering. Throughout undergraduate school, Bernard Frankl, gained research experience in friction stir welding and section piles. He was also extensively involved in the ASCE steel bridge team and a member and leader of the Center of Advanced Manufacturing and Production.
