About Bernard Bekaert

Commercial Director: I greatly appreciated teaching young adults, especially the coaching part during their internships. It was absolutely rewarding to offer my students a base, support and advice on their road to personal and professional success. I missed however the international dimension of my previous roles and above all the opportunity to contribute to the strategic choices the organisation makes. I'm totally back in that flow now as a Commercial Director and member of the Management Team at Campus Vesta. The domain of emergency services was completely new to me, but I was fascinated from the very start, seeing great opportunity. The translation of my skills and experience in the Oil & Gas industry towards a government organisation proved a challenge, but I found the right tone, priorities and objectives to apply the classic principles of strategic marketing, project, team and change management, the domains I feel so much at ease with and show results. Lecturer: Putting over 20 years of expertise in global trade and logistics at work as a lecturer Transportation and Logistics. My role is 2-fold. I'm teaching our students the basics of supply chain management, global cargo flows, transport over sea, road, track and air, business practices and communication skills, all with a special focus on the role and importance of the Port of Antwerp. Secondly I'm coaching our graduates through their internships.
