About Bernard Chamberlain

Bernard Chamberlain is an attorney and Of Counsel with Emerge Law Group. Since being a founding shareholder of the firm, he has developed a practice with a specialized focus in tax issues arising in the increasingly sophisticated cannabis businesses establishing themselves within and outside Oregon. He also advises businesses and individuals in a variety of industries on complex partnership and certain U.S. international tax matters. His early experience in tax compliance and consulting informs his work as an attorney. Before joining Emerge Law Group, Bernard worked as an associate for KPMG LLP consulting on U.S. international and corporate tax matters, as part of a boutique business and real estate practice, and for his own firm providing tax and estate planning services. Bernard received his J.D. and Federal Tax Certificate in 2006 from Portland’s Lewis and Clark Law School, his LL.M. in taxation in 2010 from the Graduate Program in Taxation of the University of Washington School of Law located in Seattle, Washington. Bernard is a member of the Oregon State Bar Taxation, Business Law, and Estate Planning Sections. Bernard enjoys spending time with his family, cooking Italian food, and hiking and mountaineering in the Pacific Northwest.
