About Bernard R.

For me AI and machine learning is both work and the biggest hobby, I'm also a software developer with over 5 years of experience. I treat technical challenges as riddles, and I love solving them, the ideas come to me all the time. I also spend a considerable amount of time doing courses and watching podcasts and lectures about AI and computer engineering. This however would be purely theoretical if I wouldn't be doing my own projects that provide more practical challenges. I used to do projects like an AI powered automatic stage lighting for my amateur theatre group, but I have realized that what is possible for industry, is completely unheard of for NGOs and PhDs trying to make a change but not given the resources. Through volunteering I gained experience in different fields, real world data and in working with non technical people, and lots of useful code snippets. I have hands-on experience in-Data analysis and statistics: creating analyses at my work and for NGOs. EDA, designing tests and quasi-tests, creating interactive data visualizations using data wrangling, clustering etc-NLP: creating deep learning text classifiers, emotion analysis, tagging, information extraction, using both statistical and ml methods-Time series: prediction, anomaly detection, finding and presenting correlations using both statistical and ml methods-Computer vision: Image classification using CNN based models (at work) and image segmentation, using autoencoders, moderate experience with object recognition/ tracking (cascades, masking, YOLO) and geospatial imagery (GIS) for volunteering projects-Computer science and Data Engineering: designing software architecture, data pipelines, ETL orchestration tools (jenkins, airflow), databases (PostgreSQL), ORM, Docker, testing, Git, Linux and basics of DevOps.
