He is Founder & Executive Director of The Demographics Group and a former Partner in a global advisory firm where he founded a demographics advisory service. He writes two weekly columns for "The Australian" newspaper and is one of the most in-demand speakers on the Australian corporate speaking circuit. Bernard has published six popular best-selling books on demographic trends namely "The Big Shift" in 2001,"The Big Picture" in 2006, the quirky "Man Drought" in 2008,"The Big Tilt" in 2011, the engaging "Decent Obsessions" in 2013. Bernard's most recent book "More Decent Obsessions" was released in November 2014 published by Melbourne University Press rrp $24.95. Bernard established The Demographics Group to deliver speaking, media and advisory services to business and government. Bernard Salt hosted a television show called "The Next Five Years with Bernard Salt" on Sky News Business broadcast across Australia for three years from 2017. In this 30-minute program Bernard asked guests and a panel of experts how key issues might impact the future business environment. The show was primarily aimed at business as well as anyone interested in the future of Australia and the world. In conjunction with KPMG Australia Bernard also hosted a top-rating podcast series called "What Happens Next" throughout 2020 and 2021. Bernard Salt was appointed to the Council of the National Museum of Australia in March 2022 and was made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) on Australia Day 2017.
