About Bernat Vidal

I have more than 25 years of experience in drug discovery and business development in the pharmaceutical industry. In my role leading the External Innovation scouting and evaluation activities in preclinics, I have successfully managed the execution of four in-licensing deals and two scientific collaborations. I was responsible for the origination and selection of licensing opportunities, management of multi-functional scientific evaluation teams and championing the projects in front of top level Senior Management. I have an extensive global network in the life-science sector, mainly in the areas of immuno-inflammation, skin cancer and rare diseases, with experience in different therapeutic modalities (NCEs, mAbs, BsAbs, mRNA, cell therapy). Since 2024 I have significantly expanded my network among the biotech and pharma sector in China, now taking the responsibility to build and lead a Corporate Development team in China. Prior to business development, I had 20 years of experience in Medicinal Chemistry and lately in life-cycle management projects. I have 37 scientific publications, I am an inventor of 28 patent families and I have been frequently invited to speak in several international scientific and BD conferences. My personal qualities include leadership, ability to influence others by transmitting honesty and credibility, and ability to manage complex situations maintaining a high level of transparency.
