With over fifty years of experience in Germany and on an international level, Uexküll & Stolberg is a firm with at present twenty one patent attorneys admitted to practice before the European Patent Office (EPO), the German Patent and Trademark Office (GPTO), Germany’s Federal Patent Court and the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM). The team of Uexküll & Stolberg also includes two attorneys-at-law (Rechtsanwälte) specialized in trademark matters. The firm is steadily growing and three scientists are currently working as trainees, which will strengthen the team of patent attorneys in the near future. Founded in 1958, the firm today employs over fifty full-time staff at its offices in Hamburg and Munich. Dr. Janssen is active in the areas of trademark law and patent law in chemistry and pharmacology including prosecution, oppositions, and opposition appeal proceedings. He concentrates mainly on conducting opposition proceedings and opposition appeal proceedings before the European Patent Office, and on trademark prosecution and oppositions before the German Patent and Trademark Office. Dr. Janssen joined Uexküll & Stolberg in 1994 as a trainee after having received his PhD in organometal chemistry from the University of Heidelberg. He became a German Patent Attorney in 1997 and a European Patent Attorney in 1998, and gained experience in U.S. patent practice by working at a patent law firm in Chicago, IL and at the patent departments of ExxonMobil in Florham Park, NJ and Baytown, TX.
