Bernd is a Technology and Product Executive with a PhD in machine learning and data science from MIT, specializing in building and selling technology companies, running product management and M&A operations, and managing patent protection and litigation. Incubation of technology companies, revenue growth, and successful exit: Led successful sale of three technology entities: ThingMagic acquired by Trimble Inc. in 2010 and by Novanta Inc. in 2017; DeepMagic acquired by Standard Cognition in 2019. Achieved 100%+ annual revenue growth 3 years in a row at ThingMagic by building a worldwide partner network of 150 partners in more than 40 countries. Product management and M&A for B2B, SaaS, and AI products with a focus on the retail and supply chain industry: Developed and sold the first long-range UHF RFID readers at ThingMagic; ThingMagic continues to be a technology and market leader more than 20 years after I co-founded it. Contributed to tremendous ARR growth during 3 years after joining scale-up Scandit AG by leading product strategy. Built and led the M&A function at Unicorn Scandit.
