About Bernette Taylor

A native of the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania suburbs, Bernette Taylor has a significant amount of both administrative and human resource experience having worked in a number of industries to include higher education, home health care, chemical manufacturing and retail. This experience includes benefit administration, job training, OSHA, workers compensation and employee relations. A self proclaimed late bloomer, Bernette received a dual bachelor’s degree in Human Management Performance (BS) and Organization Dynamics (BA) from Immaculata University where she graduated Cum Laude. In 2017, she earned a master’s degree in Higher Education Leadership and Administration from Capella University and graduated Summa Cum Laude. Bernette is a member of Delta Epsilon Sigma Honor Society and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). In addition to her professional memberships, Bernette previously served as a board member for the Workforce Development Board SDA-83, which provides job training opportunities for residents in the rural parishes of Louisiana. She also serves as a peer reviewer for the Journal of Negro Education, which is published by Howard University, and has published an article of her own in the Journal of Higher Education Management. Currently, Bernette resides in the Greater Baton Rouge area with her husband, Michael. Together, the couple are parents to five children and three fur-babies.
