About Bernhard Ramsauer

I am passionate about pushing the boundaries of nanotechnology through autonomous molecular manipulation and advanced scanning probe microscopy (SPM). With a strong foundation in machine learning techniques like reinforcement learning, Gaussian process regression, and machine vision, I strive to develop innovative solutions to build molecular nanostructures in an autonomous fashion, addressing complex challenges in molecular fabrication. My research interests focus on exploring on-surface synthesis and nanofabrication at the single-molecule level, with a deep focus on the intricate inter- and intramolecular interaction processes. I am particularly fascinated by the influence of inelastic electron tunneling and orbital structure on bond dissociation, formation, and the resulting binding motifs, which directly impact on-surface synthesis. Additionally, I investigate the effects of electric fields on molecular behavior. Through my work, I aim to unlock new possibilities in molecular design and fabrication, contributing to advancements in nanotechnology and material science.
