Background

About Bernice Bushell

I graduated from the University of Sussex this year with a first class degree in Psychology with Clinical Approaches. I completed a professional placement year as a Support Worker at Likewise, where I gained experience working in a person-centred way to support individuals and the community. Alongside completing my final year of study, I worked for YMCA Brighton, supporting people with lived experience of homelessness. In both of these roles, I started creative groups focused on building connection and community through poetry and art, and took on responsibilities championing co-production and equality, diversity & inclusion. I currently work as a Mental Health Support Worker at Venture-People within an accommodation service supporting women with complex mental health needs, with a strong focus on recovery, empowerment and person-centred care.
