About Berthalia Reuben

A proud Torres Strait Islander woman from Darnley Island. Berthalia, also known as Selina, is an Independent Performing Artist based on the Central Coast, NSW and has completed her Diploma in Professional Dance Performance at NAISDA Dance College where she gained technical skills and knowledge in the Performing Arts Industry. Selina is currently the Cultural Sessional Trainer at NAISDA Dance College where she maintains cultural dance repertoire and knowledge through cultural protocol practices as well as inspiring the next generation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Arts Practitioners and leaders. She also shares her passion and knowledge of culture through Torres Strait Islander workshops throughout the Central Coast, Sydney and Newcastle regions. During her time studying at University of Newcastle, Selina was part of the CareerTrackers Indigenous Internship Program where she gained internship placements during summer at both GHD Pty Ltd. and Westpac to gain experience within the Australian corporate sector and further her creative skills. Selina is passionate about her culture and loves working with young people in being proud of who they are and where they come from.
