Strategic Vision & The "Architecture of Trust" Bertrand’s unique perspective was forged through years of experience as a techno-economic energy modeller and system analyst. By simulating intricate energy markets using fragmented, disparate data sources, he saw firsthand how data silos act as a primary barrier to the global energy transition. This realization shifted his professional focus toward the "architecture of trust," where he now champions interoperability as the essential key to unlocking value and driving cross-organizational collaboration. Standards Leadership & Platform Innovation As an active leader within The Open Group ecosystem, Bertrand previously served as a co-lead in the Open Footprint Forum, specifically within the Data Definitions and Regulatory Use Cases working group. During his tenure with Net Zero Matrix, he was instrumental in demonstrating how sustainability data can be successfully integrated as a standalone domain within the OSDU core. Today, he is focused on evolving this work—leveraging the open-source contributions of the energy industry to position the OSDU Data Platform as a domain-agnostic, cross-organizational management tool designed for the modern enterprise. Technical Foundation & Research Bertrand’s technical expertise is underpinned by a specialized academic background in Digital Currency and Finance, complemented by open-source leadership within the Linux Foundation’s Hyperledger community. This deep understanding of distributed systems allows him to design resilient architectures that prioritize data integrity and transparency. Before his current roles in product management and consulting, Bertrand was a Research Fellow at KAPSARC, an independent energy economics think tank. There, he combined techno-economic modeling with policy analysis to provide high-level recommendations for the energy sector.
