Background
About Bess Hilpert
I am the author of "finding I", a memoir that explores growing up under adverse conditions while marrying the current neuroscience to explain my path of fails, falls and triumphs. I share my story in hopes of opening a larger conversation about the long-term transgenerational effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). ACEs is a public health issue that needs to be brought out of the silence and shame realm and into the public consciousness. As a USA Swimming and USMS Certified Level 3 coach, I have the daily opportunity to help swimmers of all ages and abilities achieve their goals. It is a way I can find solutions to obstacles and make a difference.
