Are you ready to make a difference in the world of sustainability? I am! With a passion for (marine) biology and a foundation in neuroscience, I bring a unique perspective to environmental conservation and education. As a biology teacher and environmental advocate, I am dedicated to inspiring others and promoting sustainable change.Throughout my career, I've gained diverse experiences—from researching abroad to leading projects addressing biodiversity loss in renewable energy areas. While at a nature organization, we noticed a concerning trend: biodiversity loss in renewable energy project areas. Motivated to find a balance, we spearheaded a project to educate professionals on supporting the transition while preserving biodiversity. This experience taught me the power of advocacy and community engagement in driving sustainable change.In my teaching roles, I've had the joy of guiding students both in high school and university. I'm proud to share that all my university students, as well as those I taught in high school, passed their exams—a testament to my commitment to effective and engaging teaching methods.Currently, I work in sustainability consulting, where I collaborate with a team to explore innovative solutions within the energy transition. In partnership with TNO, we're investigating the potential of dimethyl ether as a renewable alternative to fossil-based LPG and chemicals. This project has sharpened my skills in analytical thinking, presentation, critical thinking, systems thinking, and teamwork.During my time at Milieudefensie, I worked on projects focused on fostering sustainability conversations with organizations. These experiences taught me the importance of effective communication and negotiation skills in driving positive environmental change.My hard skills include PADI Open Water Diver certification, Cambridge English Advanced (C1), and experience in fieldwork, data analysis, project management, sales, marketing, and systems thinking. These abilities are complemented by soft skills in leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking.Whether leading a project, analyzing data, or teaching a class, I bring enthusiasm and professionalism. I'm always open to connecting and starting a dialogue to explore how we can collaborate to advance our shared goals in sustainability and environmental conservation!
