About Beth Allen

I believe that education is more than a pathway, it’s a catalyst for transformation. I’ve had the privilege of supporting students across K–16, from secondary learners building literacy skills to new and non-traditional college students navigating the transition into higher education. My work centers on helping those who face barriers leverage their strengths and achieve their goals. In my role as Associate Director of Student Success at the University of Maryland Global Campus, I lead a team of First Year Success Coaches who support thousands of new students each year. Over the past seven years, I’ve guided the growth of UMGC’s coaching model from pilot to institution-wide initiative, ensuring it is rooted in research, student agency, and developmental support. I also design and facilitate professional development for coaching leaders, equipping them to cultivate accountability, innovation, and a growth mindset within their teams. My expertise spans coaching, leadership development, student engagement, and new student transition support. By drawing on a background that bridges K–12 teaching, higher education, and even the performing arts, I bring creativity, adaptability, and a student-centered lens to everything I do. I am passionate about creating environments where both students and professionals feel seen, supported, and empowered to achieve their goals—because when we meet learners where they are, we open the door to lasting success.
