Beth Bochnak, M.A. is the president of NJP Litigation Consulting/East. She has a background in social/personality psychology and has been using applied social science research to understand juror decision making for more than 25 years. She is the editor and a co-author of Women’s Self Defense Cases: Theory and Practice (Michie, 1981). Through her work on capital defenses cases in particular, she has reviewed thousands of supplemental juror questionnaires each year and learned, during individual voir dire, which questions were most effective. In addition to state and federal criminal defense work, Ms. Bochnak assists in commercial civil litigation, and for plaintiffs in employment, personal injury, and product liability cases.
