About Beth Geiger

Meribeth (Beth) Geiger grew up in Southeast Alaska, giving her an exceptional understanding of and concern for social and environmental issues. Her professional and academic work demonstrate these commitments, as well as a desire to create a more inclusive, socially and environmentally just world. She believes culturally inclusive, place-based education can positively transform the lives of our youth, families, and communities. Beth has a proven track record of leading impactful initiatives that advance equity and opportunity in education. With experience directing the ground-up development and implementation of education programs, overseeing multimillion-dollar budgets, and building strategic partnerships, she is committed to creating positive change in the education field. Her work includes establishing and working directly with the R16CC WA Tribal Advisory Board to support Native students and disrupt typical means of directing resources in education. She leads the team supporting a three-state partnership, Leaders in Native Education. All her time outside of work is taken up with her herd of horses and cats.
