About Beth Hermes

As a novelist, freelance writer, and writing coach, I have written articles for newspapers & magazines since 1989 and have shared my writing expertise with corporate and individual clients to create compelling bios, web copy, collateral materials and ad campaigns. My experience includes time spent as a volunteer with numerous community organizations and programs, writing effective fundraising campaign text, ads, newsletters and follow-up materials. In addition, I spent more than six years as an event coordinator and communications director for the northwest Georgia division of a national non-profit agency. I also teach writing techniques to individuals and small groups to help them improve their skills and gain confidence with the written word. Currently hosting classes at FoxTale Book Shoppe in Woodstock, GA; Kennesaw State University's OLLI program and SummerU youth summer camp program; and have conducted writing workshops by invitation at Reinhardt University and The Blue Giraffe in Watercolor, FL. My novels include the first SIX installments in The Lightbearers series, a spiritual/fantasy tale that centers around single mother and self-employed accountant Cara Porter and the growing community of individuals who discover that their purpose is much greater than they ever imagined. I am currently writing the seventh book in that series, as well as working on a memoir about the unique 32-year relationship with my horse.
