Background

About Beth Lynch

I have spent my career working in the non-for-profit community, supporting individuals with disabilities directly by running in person and virtual workshops and programming, providing case management and navigation support. Then in later years in management roles supporting program development and execution as well as supporting teams within programs. I have had opportunities to design and implement programs, including evaluating outcomes and setting priorities for the coming years. I have strong public speaking skills during internal and external stakeholder engagement meetings and expansion. Experience in operational planning, budgeting and fund development. Strong leadership skills in training and supporting staff and their professional development. Direct experience running and supporting programs for children and youth with cerebral palsy and developmental delay as well as adults with Stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's and Acquired Brain Injury. Case Management and navigation support for stroke survivors and their families. Supported organization in creating a new program for stroke survivors and active involvement in the expansion of the After Stroke program in Atlantic Canada. Strong believer in positive thinking; helping clients to look at where they are today and where they will go from here. Showing them that even small steps lead to larger ones that continue to build towards future goals. Gauges neuroplasticity as a base for helping clients understand that everyone can learn and make improvements even if condition was acquired later in life and even if they have a progressive condition. Great understanding in program development, management, maintenance and delivery.
