About Beth Proven

I’m a community builder. Communities can be the teams I lead, the organizations I support, or the donors I have built long-standing relationships with. A conceptual thinker with infinite curiosity, I enjoy looking for new ways to do things; coaching teams to bring out their strengths and creating a culture where teams not only meet their goals, but exceed them, is incredibly fulfilling. Focused on the not-for-profit sector, my leadership skills have been developed through both collaborative strategic leadership and not being afraid to dig into the details when necessary. A passion for life-long learning has been the foundation that I built my experience on. As a fundraising specialist, I am proud to have contributed towards securing over $120 million in donations for large and small organizations in the arts, health care and post-secondary education sectors. It’s incredibly important that my work is meaningful – that it makes a difference. I strive to make genuine connections with donors, stakeholders and the organization I represent. As a leader, it has been said of me that I engender deep loyalty among those I lead – I believe strongly in treating everyone with respect and creating a safe environment where teams can strive to do their best work. Having trust between members of a team is critical for the team’s success. An energizing work environment makes all the difference – work is then a passion versus a place to go every day. Juggling multiple priorities is invigorating and brings out the best in me. I love the work I do, the organizations that I support and the donor relationships I have built – for this reason, my career is one of my top priorities.
