Background
About Beth Robinson
Beth Robinson is a fourth generation Montclair Township resident, graduating from Montclair High School in 1995. As an alumnus of Essex County College, she attained her Associate’s Degree in Accounting and returned in 2008 to earn a Legal Assistant Studies Certification. After graduating from Essex County College, Ms. Robinson transferred to Montclair State University, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in English. After working a variety of jobs from Office Manager to Accounts Receivable and Customer Service, Ms. Robinson began substitute teaching, in 2005, with the Essex County Educational Services Commission. After that experience, she began substitute teaching at East Orange Campus High School, in 2009, where she was bitten by the “teaching bug” falling in love with teaching and reaching students. She entered the New Jersey State Alternate Route Program, a non-traditional teacher preparation program, to attain her Standard Teaching Certification. She began a full time position teaching High School English at East Orange Campus High School, in 2011. After a few years in the classroom, she decided to further her education by taking on-line courses via the University of Phoenix, obtaining a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction and her Supervisor Certification from Montclair State University. At East Orange Campus High School, Ms. Robinson is a member of the School Improvement Panel (ScIP), Teacher and Leader Committee (TALC), the Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying Committee (HIB) and assistant director of the Gifted and Talented Program, in hopes to help cultivate a positive culture and climate and improve the educational environment for students, staff, teachers and administrators. Her educational philosophy is: “Every student is a mystery and we, as educators, have to find the solution of how to reach them.”
