About Beth Vold

Teaching high school English has been an amazing adventure. The last few years I have been working with upper high school students and helping them to engage in literature and learn to think critically and abstractly to find their best individual thoughts and opinions. Encouraging these youth and helping them find the resources to succeed after high school has been so rewarding. After a zig zag of a journey I am proud to have the schooling and certifications I have worked so hard for. I studied and passed the ABCTE exams for secondary English Language Arts,have my BA in Libraries Science and Media, and still have my AAS in Veterinary Technology. I am fortunate to be so well rounded in my careers and education. I have been fortunate to work in school settings and a public library with children. Encouraging imagination, reading, and literacy in children of a variety of ages. I worked for a public library as a Youth and Adult ServicesLlibrarian during COVID, and before that in the Osceola Intermediate School Library as the library aide. I am excited to continue to grow in my knowledge of teaching, English Literature, and to improve my classroom lesson and management skills. All of my experiences have given me the base for my hardest and most reward job as a Special Needs Mother. Using my medical background has made thing so much easier with my son. Spina Bifida is a unique disability because it is so individualized and different for each person. The Spina Bifida community has and continues to teach me the most about life, love and respect. Each of these careers has taught me valuable skills to help me grow as a person, as an employee and as a leader. My previous career as a CVT and Veterinary Hospital Manager still serves me well in being able to communicate professionally with colleagues and patrons. Especially when the conversation may not be easy or may cause conflict if done improperly. My last job as a Youth and Adult Programming Coordinator highlighted and strengthened my ability to self-start projects and work independently when needed. I had also been given the tasks of updating our library's website and social media. In doing that media and the inventory work done as a Library Aide I am competent working with multiple library database systems such as Sierra, and Destiny. I also have used Divi website builders, Facebook, Instagram, and explored many digital benefits within the Google platform such as interactive slides, and using Google Sites. These all give me a strong base of knowledge to bring to another platform if necessary.
