About Beth Watts
I am a Biological Sciences graduate with an MSc in Medical Microbiology and Open Degree (BSc) with and IT and Computing focus. I have also completed a Proofreading and Editing Diploma with the NZ Institute of Business Studies. I currently work as IT Support for a local school two days a week, admin support for the local Kāhui Ako a few hours a week, as well as on a self-employed basis preparing Operations and Maintenance manuals using a range of Adobe and Office software. My last scientific position was at Dstl Porton Down where I worked for 9 years as a research scientist. I previously also worked within the Rabies Research and Diagnostic Unit at the Veterinary Laboratories Agency. I am very organised, motivated, and resourceful and show great attention to detail in all my work. I have had a keen interest in computers for many years and enjoy working with them, building and fixing them (hardware and software issues), and learning new things as fresh challenges arise and technology moves on.
