Hi, I’m Bethany Joy. My story begins on the East Coast, raised by a military dad and a flight attendant mom who gave me both roots and wings. By 30, I had traveled to over 20 countries and fallen in love with global connection and impact driven work. That passion led me to The Walt Disney Company, where I spent seven years on the Global Sales and Marketing team, leading major campaigns and special programs for Disney Parks & Resorts, including the iconic Grad Nite program. After Disney, I joined the founding team at TOMS, where I led Community from the startup years through our acquisition with Bain Capital. I helped scale the One for One movement into a global phenomenon, activating a community of changemakers and telling brand stories that inspired millions. Since then, I’ve become a trusted voice and go-to expert in the Community space. From managing a large portfolio at WeWork to launching 125+ global community groups at Upwork, to engagement and retention programs at ClassUp, I’ve built and led community strategy across every stage -> startup to scale, grassroots to global. I specialize in turning audiences into advocates and transforming brands into movements. PS: Curious about gaps between employment?
