I am currently working as a scientist at LumiraDx as part of the Reagents team, where I develop new medical tests which use their new, portable point of care diagnostic system. I successfully defended my PhD (University of Strathclyde) in December 2020, my research involved using resonance Raman and surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) with SERS substrates and nanoparticles for the detection of the explosive Pentaerythritol Tetranitrate (PETN). I also completed an integrated masters course in Chemistry (MChem) at University of Strathclyde, with a year in industry. My masters dissertation focused on the detection of hospital acquired infectious diseases using silver nanoparticles, SERS and DNA.
