Background
About Bethany Siehl
As a proud Ursinus College alum with a B.A. in East Asian Studies, I’ve always been passionate about global perspectives, education, and community engagement. During my undergraduate years, I completed a one-year study abroad program in Tokyo at International Christian University, triple-minored in Japanese, English, and Education Studies, and actively contributed to campus life through leadership in student organizations, cheerleading, improv, and faith-based initiatives. Before returning to Ursinus as an Admissions Counselor, I spent several years in education and student support roles across diverse cultural contexts. From teaching in Japan and Canada to tutoring students online, I’ve developed a strong background in academic planning, communication, and student advocacy. I’ve led student success planning initiatives, collaborated with teachers and administrators, and conducted intake assessments and academic interventions. At Star Academy in Ontario, I redesigned institutional templates for student tracking and supported the rollout of new standardized assessments. These experiences shaped my deep commitment to individualized education and holistic student support. Now at Ursinus, I work with students and families through every stage of the college admissions process. I manage a recruitment territory that includes Montgomery County (PA), Delaware, Texas, Washington, Oregon, Puerto Rico, and international applicants. I also support prospective transfer students and maintain lines of communication between faculty and the admission office. I bring strategic thinking to my role, having developed detailed travel and recruitment plans praised for their insight and thoroughness, and I enjoy bridging the gap between institutional goals and student needs. Looking ahead, I’m eager to grow in the field of higher education—particularly in enrollment strategy, student access, and institutional partnerships. I’m passionate about helping students find their place in transformative learning communities, just as I found mine at Ursinus.
