About Bethany Summers

I am currently employed with the Durham Catholic District School Board as Teacher, certified to teach in Ontario. I have experience in Case Management and staff supervision as well as other positions related to social service work. I have a degree in Psychology and am interested in working in the areas of education and social work. I enjoy and am skilled in working with children who have special needs, as well as, those with challenging behaviour. I also have worked with adults with disabilities, special needs, and challenging behaviours both in direct service and in case management roles coordinating with families and involved agencies. My goal is to better the lives of those I work with, advocate, and find creative solutions to the challenges faced by the individuals I support and their families. I seek to assist and motivate individuals I work with to go beyond expectations, strive to achieve their personal best and learn the skills needed to face what challenges them and work through difficulties. I attended Niagara University for teachers college and will be furthering my education through Additional Qualifications, working towards a position within Special Education.
