About Bev Thomas

I am currently an independent consultant and executive coach, having been Principal Consultant and Health Sector Lead at Tavistock Consulting. I have extensive experience of working as a facilitator, coach and organisational consultant in both the public and commercial sectors. I have co-directed, and have directed the Executive Coaching course. In all my work, I am passionate about getting to the heart of organisational complexities in order to help individuals, teams and services maximise their potential. I am particularly interested in group dynamics and in the factors that can enhance and inhibit teamwork and leadership. My background in Clinical Psychology proved a robust grounding in the assessment and diagnostic process, and these are skills I have honed and developed in my organisational work. I have experience of working with organisations in conflict, or identified as failing or struggling, or those traumatised by an event or process. My focus is always on the wider context, and on making explicit both the obvious and hidden dilemma's or issues. As a writer and former therapist, I see the importance of helping clients and services develop a coherent narrative of their current situation, to inform any strategies for future change.
