Currently assisting two PhD students with their projects on Eremophilas. I have taken the two students on a number of field trips across WA to locate eremophila species for them. One student from Uni Melbourne is looking at the phylogenetics of eremophilas and she has now collected nearly all the eremophilas from Western Australia as well as over east. She is using next generation sequencing of the chloroplasts for the phylogenetic analysis and she is about to submit the first 30 species for sequencing in early April The other student from Uni NSW is looking at insect diversity on eremophilas. He has been collecting the true insects off eremophilas and looking at mostly lacewings which seem to like eremophilas. At the moment he has sampled over 79 species and has found nearly 100 insects of interest. As part of the project I will also be contributing insects samples for eaxamibation as a way of getting a greater coverage if species from different geographic regions. We are planning on doing a field trip towards Carnegie in July 2015. In addition to the above I have become interested in spiders - which were a biproduct of the insect project. I will be seeking to see if any professional arachnophiles are interested in future collection trips into some of the more remote regions of WA
