Shout out to Aaron McKenzie Frasier for the profile photo! A-type designer, B-type chill. I’ve been working as a graphic designer in Halifax for 22 years and I feel super lucky to have a career working in the field I love. Oddly organized for a creative, I work through a balance of creative and analytical thinking, putting my all into each job I take on, from large scale projects to the tiniest of web ads. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Mount Allison University and a diploma in Graphic Design from McKenzie College, I have a strong foundation in the visual arts. I've been in the design world for over 20 years, including 12 years as an art director and designer at the ad agency Cossette, and 6 years as a graphic designer at Nova Scotia Community College. I enjoy the process of concept development starting with pencil on paper, and I thrive in the digital realm, having worked on large web projects such as O’Regan’s Automotive’s 20 dealer sites, social for numerous companies and organizations and creating websites through platforms such as Foleon. My attention to detail has helped achieve goals for organizations across Atlantic Canada, ranging from organizations like Nova Scotia Community College to large companies such as McDonald’s Restaurants of Canada. No task is too big (or too small) to attempt perfection. And I'm not afraid to “make it pop”;) In 2009, I was lucky enough to go to the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival in France to compete at an international level after winning the Canadian Young Lions competition in the Media category. This was a foundational inspiration in my work. I’m currently graphic designer at Nova Scotia Community College, helping build a brand that is moving Nova Scotians forward. A proud Nova Scotian for 23 years, I'm an all-around Maritimer, having been born in Prince Edward Island and attended high school and university in New Brunswick. My favourite hangout is Point Pleasant Park, where my dog can run free like the wind.
