About Beverley Thompson

Beverley is a third-year law student at Emory University School of Law, where she focuses on the intersection of environmental law, policy, and public service. With a background in climate mitigation and adaptation, environmental justice, and federal environmental management, she brings a thoughtful, solutions-driven approach to today’s most pressing environmental challenges. At Emory, Beverley is a student attorney for the Turner Environmental Law Clinic and a Managing Editor for the Emory Law Journal. She is also a Regional Environmental Protection Specialist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service in the Southern Region. Her work across legal, governmental, and public sectors has given her hands-on experience navigating the complex intersection of environmental law, policy, and compliance. Through this work, she has developed a nuanced understanding of the tensions (and opportunities) that shape effective environmental governance and advocacy. Outside her academic and professional pursuits, Beverley enjoys multi-day solo wilderness backpacking, rock climbing, and driving her manual ‘07 Toyota FJ Cruiser.
