I am Professor of African American History, with a research focus in 19th century and African American Women’s History. I have had an active professional career in education with The University of Memphis (for over 25 years), Germantown (TN) High School, and Teaneck (NJ) High School. My most recent educational employment has been as a college professor. I am also co-author or co-editor of seven books including MEMPHIS IN BLACK AND WHITE; the two-volume TENNESSEE WOMEN, THEIR LIVES, THEIR TIMES; and REMEMBERING THE MEMPHIS MASSACRE, AN AMERICAN STORY.
