A fulfilling top management career spanning over 4 decades has rendered an integrated exposure including line function, profit centre & brand management. From a management trainee in 1980 to progressing as President, Response of BCCL and subsequently with ZEE Media Corporation as Group CEO has been an accomplished feat. At BCCL, I was responsible for 90% of BCCL’s Turnover and during my stint of 6 years as President, the advertising revenue augmented from Rs 1560 cr. to Rs 4200 cr. I was a Board member of BCCL, and its various subsidiary companies. Leadership, as I define it means to deliver outcomes and not outputs which have been my guiding principle in life. Identifying and mitigating pain points come naturally to me. Driving dramatic revenue growth, managing transformations in legacy companies, understanding consumers, inspiring team members and spearheading turn-around strategy are some things that energize me. My teams and employers describe me as an insight provocateur, catalyst, a leader who develops the stage for others to perform, actualizes with soaring energy levels and a student who learns a lot from teams and shapes them. A recognized & certified tutor and speaker, I have over 800 + hours of addressing industry forums & reputed B-Schools, like Harvard Business School, The Wharton School, MIT, IIM, IIAS (Shimla), MICA (Ahmedabad), ISB etc. During my stint as a Professor of SPJIMR, I was engaged in creating properties that accentuate the thought leadership of the Institute as a Brand and consequently influence the management practice of corporate India. At MICA, Ahmedabad I am a Governing Council member. I am also mentoring the M&E area and a member of the Leadership and Management Development program team.
