About Bhaskar Mukherjee

As a crime reporter, I work on the frontlines to bring truth to the public. Covering crime means more than just reporting facts; it requires navigating complex, often chaotic situations to piece together accurate, timely stories. Each day on the job is unpredictable, taking me to different locations—sometimes to scenes of unimaginable violence and loss. Crime reporting involves more than simply interviewing people; it requires empathy, resilience, and the ability to process horrific scenes that can leave lasting impressions. Gathering information directly from crime scenes or from those affected requires a balance of sensitivity and persistence. I’m there to inform, but I also feel a deep responsibility to represent the experiences of victims, witnesses, and communities fairly and with integrity. It’s a challenging field, but shedding light on these realities keeps communities aware, empowered, and ultimately safer.
