Hi, my name is Bibi Currently in a Masters program for Marine Biology at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UC San Diego. Graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor's of Art in Environmental and Ocean Sciences from the University of San Diego (May 2021). A Dutch girl living her best life in California, with a passion for marine biology research and conservation In my marine biology journey, I've delved into diverse ecosystems, from the coral reefs in Curaçao to the rocky intertidal zones of San Diego and the shorelines of Alaska. I've honed molecular techniques to examine microbial interactions, while also mastering coral husbandry and reproduction techniques. Through shipboard expeditions, I've collected and analyzed data crucial for understanding marine biodiversity and ecosystem health. Moreover, my involvement in volunteer organizations showcases my commitment to marine conservation and community outreach. With a solid foundation in fieldwork, lab techniques, and scientific communication, I'm dedicated to contributing meaningfully to marine biology research and conservation efforts. In my free time, you can find me traveling, hiking, playing field hockey, or curled up on the couch with a great book AAUS Scientific Diver, molecular lab techniques, extensive field work and data collection, coral spawning capture and propagation, data analysis (R, Excel, JMP), interdisciplinary communication
